Willow Beach Accessibility Overview
TERRAIN
- Sidewalks and Pathways: Pathways throughout Willow Beach are made of concrete and are generally smooth and level. There is a small hill when heading toward the fish hatchery along the waterway.
- Public Areas: All restrooms are ADA accessible.
- Doors: Exterior doorways on buildings are not automated.
- Parking: There are two designated accessible parking spaces available.
- Flooring: All interior locations feature tile flooring.
ACTIVITIES
- Trails: Trails are gravel-based and informally maintained, often shaped by repeated foot traffic. They are impacted by weather and not managed by a specific entity.
- Docks: Docks are floating and include a single set of railings along the ramp leading to the main dock.
- Raft Tours:
- No overhead shade available.
- Wheelchairs can fit on board, but motorized scooters are not permitted.
- Guests must climb over the raft’s edge to board.
- Water levels fluctuate, which can impact the ease of boarding.
- Boat Rentals:
- Pontoon boats are the most accessible rental option.
- A paddle craft launch area allows customers to sit before entering their boats.
- While there is no designated ADA launch, staff are available to assist with boarding and disembarking when needed.
- Other Activities:
- Black Canyon Rafting is also offered on-site.
CAMPGROUND
- ADA Campsites:
- Site B1: Back-in site with flat, extra-wide concrete pad.
- Site C4: Pull-through site with flat, extra-wide concrete pad.
- Restroom Facilities:
- Both men’s and women’s restrooms include ADA-compliant stalls.
- Stall doors measure 36 inches wide, with grab bars on two sides and a lowered coat hook.
- Showers:
- Roll-in accessible ADA shower.
- Equipped with grab bar, adjustable shower head, and a bench seat that can be raised or lowered.
2 ADA tent sites (E1 and F2) have dedicated ADA parking sites. All sidewalks and curb areas are wheelchair accessible, along with the shower and bathroom area.
