Reasons to Visit Willow Beach
Calling all adventurers…
Are you looking for a destination to start your next outdoor adventure? Willow Beach is the perfect place to start. From kayaking, to hiking, to boating, fishing, and more, you’ll never experience a dull moment when you visit.
Willow Beach is the number one kayaking destination in the Las Vegas area. Venture out of the Las Vegas Strip and experience a whole new world where you can kayak up north through the hot springs, the Hoover Dam, Emerald Cove, and Gauger’s Residence and Station. You can also head towards the south of Willow Beach where you will find Queho’s Cave and Monkey Rock/Hole. Not to mention the beautiful photo opportunities which is perfect for first timers who are starting their kayaking journey.
Don’t want to get wet? No problem! Hiking is another great option at Willow Beach. Journey by foot through the Arizona Hot Spring which is an intermediate to strenuous hiking course. The Arizona Hot Spring is part of the White Canyon Trailhead which also has the Liberty Bell Arch and Spooky Canyon. If you’d like to challenge yourself a little more, try the Gold Strike course which is deemed as extreme (but worth it) and is perfect for thrill seekers.
Boating is also an unforgettable experience at Willow Beach. If you’ve already ventured through Lake Mead, cruise down Lake Mohave! There are beautiful, white sandy beaches that are perfect for your next tan or escaping the Las Vegas city life. Not a fan of the sand? No worries! You can also journey through the different marinas in the area, including our very own Willow Beach Marina that offers various amenities! Nelson’s Landing (and its non-condoned cliff jumping scene), Eldorado Canyon, Black Canyon, and Hoover Dam are all wonderful options you can cruise to if you’re looking to sail with a view. As a part of the Lake Mead National Recreation area in Arizona, we have boating rentals available to complete your trip including canoes, powerboats, and other watercraft to enjoy a day out on the water.
Willow Beach is big on fishing and is home to the largest fresh water striped bass in the country and is considered a Trophy Striper Fishery. Anglers from all over the country visit for a chance to hook one of these trophy fish. Some of these trophy fish can be seen in our General Store displayed on our walls. Rainbow trout, catfish, sunfish, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, and more, just to name a few, are some of the other fish you can look forward to catching during your next fishing adventure. Pro tip: if you visit Willow Beach on a Friday, you might catch fresh rainbow trout since they are routinely released every week on Fridays. If you’re visiting us for a day of fishing, our well stocked inventory features all the essentials for your trip including a wide range of fishing tackle and bait. The friendly and knowledgeable staff at Willow Beach are always willing to share fishing tips and offer advice as well.
